WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Enterprise Data Leader will be responsible for the creation of a Global Enterprise Data team that create and implement global data strategy and practices that drive a consistent global approach to how data is acquired, managed, transformed, utilized, and distributed.  Working in collaboration with business and technology leaders, this person will develop policies and procedures designed to ensure our data assets are managed with the highest security and integrity.  They will work across the businesses looking for opportunities to leverage data assets in new and unique ways.  In partnership with other technology functions, they will review and evaluate data technologies and the implementation of these technologies across the global estate.  Working with product functions, they will provide expertise in the utilization of our data assets and data technologies in the creation of products and services.  Leading or in support of inter-disciplinary teams, improving and streamlining data systems, and driving innovation.  The Enterprise Data team will have a broad set of skills including data modeling, machine learning, data architectures, platforms, technologies, third party products and services, standards, policies, and regulations.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the application of data at scale using modern tools, machine learning, various data management technologies, leadership, and other data related analytics tools, services, and techniques. A strong, hands-on background in technology, machine learning, data analytics, general business solutions, and mathematics is advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Thorough understanding of the business and data strategy.  Foster an understanding of this strategy through presentations and interactions with teams throughout the company. Provide advice and decisions that help connect the company’s data strategy with products and product teams.
• Designing and implementing data strategies and systems. Partner with teams to develop and evolve infrastructure and procedures that will optimize the company’s ability to bring innovative data products to market quickly and safely.
• The architecture and techniques associated with use of enterprise data assets.  Develop and maintain a plan to best leverage data assets toward the company’s data strategy.
• Oversight and governance of platforms and 3rd party tools.  Help in providing key decisions in platform and tool choice that empower teams and products. Provide best-practice support for teams using these tools to develop products and features.
• The applications of machine learning, analytics, and other emerging technologies.  Establish a center of excellence in data science and machine learning and their application to new and existing products.   Act as the hub for data science and engineering enabling collaboration across inter-disciplinary teams.
• Standards and policy related to securing data assets globally.  Help support and enforce best-practices for securing consumer data and data assets.
• Reuse of technology and techniques globally.  Promote useful techniques, infrastructure and capabilities developed by one team to other teams across the company.
• Overseeing the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data.  Provide tactical and engineering support for teams to advance safe and innovate uses of data.
• Implementing data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulations.
• Determine where to cut costs and increase revenue based on insights derived from data.  Develop programs and make key decisions that minimize costs while boosting the development and success of data products.
• Effectively communicate the status, value, and importance of data collection to executive members and staff.  Establish a center of excellence in presenting the value and promise of innovative uses of data.
• Knowledge of relevant applications, big data solutions, and tools.
• Lead a team of scientists, engineers, and other professionals to increase the company’s capabilities to bring innovative data products and features to market safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND LOOKS LIKE

• Prior demonstrated experience in the implementation and management of data at scale, data science, and analytics platforms
• Machine learning and data analysis tools, platforms, technologies, and techniques
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 15+ years' experience in a senior-level data management role.
• Management experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Project management skills.
• Analytically minded.
• Professionalism and ethical behavior.
