    Job Description

    As the VP of Decisioning and Platform Strategy you will turn our vision into a product strategy & roadmap that allows Experian to continue to scale our impact. You are an experienced product leader with a unique ability to turn complex industry trends and market or client needs into simple, straightforward user experiences on our decisioning platforms.  

    You are also an exceptional and inspiring people leader who has led high velocity product teams in a cross functional, growth or mature stage environment. Most importantly, you’re someone who is driven by our vision and excited to drive the next generation of decisioning software and analytics. 

    Additionally, you are an expert in Agile product and software development, Human Centered Design and Pragmatic or Sirius framework. You are fully versed in all aspects of the end-to-end product development lifecycle from identifying a market opportunity and driving product market fit through use case development/requirements to ship and all the way through A/B testing plus go-to-market/sales enablement. 

    • Partner cross-functionally and across business units to shape the NA DA strategic product platforms roadmap for continued scale of our business and impact 
    • Create, maintain, and update product strategy 
    • Lead the creation of straightforward, simple, and uncomplicated user experiences solving key jobs to be done for our customers 
    • Optimize the way we ideate and deliver new products and features, focusing on building the right products with continuous improvement 
    • Lead and expand an exceptional team of product resources that allow us to deliver new products & features at a high velocity with great quality 
    • Build a culture of action, ownership and learning 
    • Drive cross-functional alignment with a strong level of partnership, empowerment and collaboration 
    • Anticipate potential opportunities, hurdles or issues and proactively manage to maximize opportunity and/or minimize risk 
    • Work closely with the development team to assess the significance and potential product impact (opportunity/risk assessments)

      

    Specifically, you will drive initiatives such as: 

    • Enhance product discipline to achieve faster time to market, efficient delivery of our products and solutions ultimately improving overall client experience – establish and share in a transparent manner our product roadmap, prioritized product backlog, and market readiness checklists across the team 
    • Accelerate decisioning product development to support fast new client onboarding into a future-proof, multi-tenant cloud environment that allows for scale, innovation and fast vertical expansion to capture new revenue with optimal margin 
    • Accelerate cross-product platform integration for prioritized channel partners to achieve scale using distribution channels ultimately accelerating our revenue growth exponentially vs. Linearly (1 on 1 client integrations), reduced cost of marketing, penetration into lower end markets 
    • Drive high engagement – Be there and present for our partners including new cadence and rhythms with development, global and North American product teams 
    • Fully own various process, tools and operational aspects of the product lifecycle such as customer research and discovery, product frameworks and tools, product KPI and metrics reporting.  
    • Drive consolidated strategy for various products, platforms and initiatives through their entire lifecycle. This includes initiating new concepts, driving development projects, launching new products, driving revenue via marketing and the sales force and withdrawing products from the market. 
    • Guide the team to identify market opportunities, define product vision and strategy, understand client needs, gather product requirements and recommend product ideas and enhancements. 
    • Support development of business cases for new opportunities, including market sizing, target market segmentation, competitive analysis, go to market strategies and product positioning. 
    • Represent the company vision and product suite at industry forums and client advisory boards 
    • Drive a consistently high level of quality and ingenuity in detailed product management deliverables (e.g. business cases, marketing requirements, compliance documents, pricing, sales tools). 
    • Drive revenue and profitability of decisioning product lines, leveraging, aligning, and prioritizing resources and sales channels from across the enterprise to sustain competitive business growth. 
    • Monitor, track, and forecast revenue and pipelines and evaluate P & L’s, as appropriate. Responsible for fiscal year attainment of budgeted revenue and margin / EBIT goals. 
    • Establish frameworks for obtaining client feedback through collaboration with sales and account management teams, and leverage to inform product roadmap and enhancements and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.  
    • Support process of securing and creating client references and supporting documents in the form of case studies, written referrals, joint press releases, etc.  
    • Support sales with strategic product expertise and contribute to the development of tools such as product collateral, communication updates, ongoing sales training, client presentations / product demonstrations, RFP / RFI responses, competitive positioning documents, and other relevant materials.  
    • Work closely with legal and compliance to establish the necessary product documentation and reviews before delivering new products and product enhancements to the market.  
    • Present product overviews to internal and external audiences, at conferences and through webinars.  
    • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise as related to Experian’s products and services, to include addressable markets, detailed functionality, best practices, and competitive positioning at a level such that you can successfully represent the business to internal groups and parties as well as to external clients, partners, and at industry functions.  
    • Assist in product promotion by contributing to the development and implementation of collateral such as blogs, whitepapers, press releases, and analyst papers. 
    • Develop and support relevant strategic partnerships as part of product innovations and new distribution channels.

      

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree a plus 
    • Minimum of 15 years experience in product management and product marketing (full product lifecycle from inception to deliver) 
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in B2B or B2C software products 
    • Hands on experience working with various tools such as JIRA, Aha!, Product Board, Salesforce etc. 
    • Demonstrated success in analytics, financial services, credit risk, credit policy, regulatory risk, enterprise risk, data management or marketing services 
    • Demonstrated experience in leading product teams and in managing to product suite P&L 
    • Knowledge and previous work experience with Agile software development, Pragmatic Marketing, or Go to Market 
    • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Marketing, Technology, Sales, Client Support and Finance 
    • Ability to understand, summarize and explain highly complex and technical problems 
    • Ability to evaluate and prioritize requirements given business value versus constraints 
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends 
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills 
    • Executive presence Strong verbal and written communication skills
