    Job Description

    We are currently seeking a VICE PRESIDENT, CONTRACTS COUNSEL FOR EXPERIAN NORTH AMERICA. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations and Governance, this position leads a team that supports transactions from client interest through signature and plays a key part in creating effective commercial solutions for our clients and our business.   

    This position develops, plans, directs and controls strategic short- and long-term operational goals and objectives across multiple North American Business Units. Manages goals and objectives through subordinate managers, supervisors, and staff.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to a group of subordinate attorneys and staff.
    • Directs and controls the activities across a broad functional team supporting multiple contracting activities.
    • Participates with other senior managers/directors/executives to establish cross-organizational strategic plans and objectives.
    • Partners with legal and compliance teams to develop policies and procedures that affect departmental operations and may affect cross-organizational functions.
    • Reviews and negotiates customer contracts and acts as the primary liaison with sales, product, legal, finance, compliance, and senior management to resolve outstanding customer contract issues. Advises sales function in the negotiation and analysis of contracts providing creative solutions that may include exceptions to standards, bundling of products and terms and conditions.
    • Develops and maintains a company-wide system of templates for contracts administration.
    • Innovates and evolves contract processes based on internal and external feedback
    • Develops, implements, and enforces company-wide contract policies and procedures including process flows, non-standard contract handling and approval procedures.
    • Advises senior management of contract risks.
    • Oversees contract review to confirm compliance with Global Contracts Policy and legal, compliance, financial and privacy requirements.
    • Partners with internal legal function in the development, implementation, and modification of standard form contracts.
    • Ensures contract tools, such as CPQ, Salesforce, DocuSign Insights and Adobe Sign have the most efficient processes for contracts management.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctorate or equivalent required.
    • 10-12 years functional experience in regulated businesses.
    • 7-10 years managerial experience
    • Excellent knowledge of customer contracts and contract law
    • Excellent knowledge of PC desktop applications and Salesforce software
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

    LOCATION: Candidate can work remotely majority of the time, but must be able to regularly spend some time out of one of Experian's many US based offices.
