    Job Description

    The Vice President, Data Operations & Governance will lead the strategic vision and manage the evolution of Experian Marketing Services data assets, including ConsumerView, one of the industry’s largest consumer demographic/behavioral databases. The VP of Data Operations & Governance will be responsible for 4 key areas:  1) Data Management (validating incoming data sources, data integration/compilation, distribution);  2) Data Quality/Accuracy (ensuring best in class data quality/accuracy; building/tracking data Accuracy KPIs for insights for product/data acquisitions teams); 3) Data Governance (establishing best in class data lineage processes/ensure adherence to policies)  4) Data Operations/Controls (ensuring operational controls are in place/working with engineering team to ensure privacy regulation readiness across organization).

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Overseeing the integration of data sources that feed the compilation repository:  Managing a team that receives, validates, processes, and distributes Experian data assets.
    • Maintaining and evolving the rules/logic of integration and compilation of source data into Consumerview for optimal accuracy/data usage/product fitness.   
    • Overseeing the data extract process rules ensuring adherence to compliance requirements and product fit.
    • Partner with product/strategy/engineering teams to envision and implement advanced uses/applications for data and identify need for new sources of data.
    • Facilitate/support the testing and validation of new data sources.
    • Creating/maintaining best in class data lineage capabilities/processes to understand data flow from data acquisition to data delivery.  Define roles/responsibilities related to data ownership/governance.
    • Responsible for team of experts that understand our data assets, how they are constructed, cycles of data delivery, and how data and products move within the Experian environment at any given point in time.
    • Support business efforts to consolidate various data delivery platforms into one platform.
    • Define key performance indicators for data quality/accuracy performance.
    • Responsible for developing strategies to increase efficiencies and align with industry best practices in data management
    • Collaborates with Product Management/Strategy on the rationalization and development of new data assets, product offerings; deployment and governance of data usage in fulfillment tools.
    • Supports client and sales efforts to correctly and appropriately utilize ConsumerView data assets.
    • Responsible for Data Information Center, team that responds to client/internal questions on Experian marketing data.
    • Responsible for ensuring our Business Unit policies are implemented across our operations to ensure proper control over data assets and identifying areas for improvement
    • Responsible for identifying requirements to support adherence to changing privacy landscape and working with engineering team to implement
    • Working with Analytics/Products team, leading the creation and management of Data Accuracy KPI reporting to better understand coverage, accuracy, recency of data.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • MA/MS/MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in a data compilation/data governance.
    • 5-7 years managerial experience.
    • Knowledge of the direct/digital marketing industry.
    • Knowledge of both offline consumer behavioral/demographic/public record data as well as and online digital data assets
    • Knowledge of big data environments/supporting technologies
    • Knowledge of meta-data management tools.
    • Experience working with data scientists to support data compilation/data accuracy analyses
    • Advanced leadership skills and experience building teams
    • Advanced oral and written communication skills and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent customer service and problem- solving skills.
    • Knowledge of federal, state legislation as it relates to the Direct Marketing business
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of PC desktop applications and database inquiries.
    • Excellent reasoning and decision analysis skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute metrics driven business plan
