    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated Data Architect who can thrive in a fast paced, agile environment.  As a member of the Data Architecture team, you will be a subject matter expert for areas including modern data pipelines, AWS database platforms, SQL development, database modeling, and data analysis.  You will be designing, providing technical approaches, leadership, guidance and support to the development teams for implementing data and analytics solutions.

    • Design and develop data infrastructure solutions that would enable optimal collection, storage, and use of data for business products or services, reporting, analytics, and machine learning. 
    • Translate business requirements into design specifications for the application and data engineers, including data flow and pipeline components, network and system integrations, data organization, data structures and storage. 
    • Identify areas of improvement in current solutions and work on proof of concepts of new technologies. 
    • Define, publish, promote, and maintain reference architectures, data principles and guidelines.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
    • 5+ years of experience of data platform implementation in a technical and analytical role
    • 5+ years of practical development experience using one or more SQL-on-Hadoop technology (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, Presto) and/or developing software code in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, .Net)
    • 3+ years of experience with AWS services related to databases, data lake/warehouse and data pipelines such as DynamoDB, AuroraDB, Amazon Redshift, S3, Lambda, Amazon EMR, Athena, Glue, Kinesis Data Streams.
    • T-shaped candidate – ability to work at engineering/code level as well as at the platform architecture point when required
    • Strong database/data warehousing experience, data modeling and data analysis skills, and software development techniques and languages used to implement transactional data and analytics solutions
    • Experience ingesting data from different sources and/or ETL development experience
    • Excellent written, oral communication, and analytical skills
    • Polyglot: can program effectively in a wide range of programming languages and frameworks
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to be an outstanding team player
    • Ability to learn new frameworks and environments
    • Adept at asking for help when needed
