Role Responsibility: Specific Duties and Essential Function Deter terrorist activity, violent attacks and other malicious acts through patrolling, searching for suspicion indicators and assessing threat potential Based on detected suspicion indicators conduct friendly security interviews Utilize quick decision making skills and sound judgment acting in accordance with policies, procedures and state statute Respond accordingly to policy and appropriately deal with suspicious: behavior, items, and vehicles Write clear and detailed reports Request assistance of law enforcement and intelligence agencies as necessary Ensure proper radio traffic, informing dispatchers and supervisors of all pertinent incidents and activities Provide outstanding internal and external guest / customer service at all times Hold additional responsibilities to support the department and perform other duties as assigned The Ideal Candidate: Education, Licenses and Certifications Required Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent Must pass any State-required training and qualifications, which includes the absence of a record of conviction for crimes against persons or property revealed through a background check with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and / or the FBI Must possess a current and valid drivers license Type and Length of Specific Experience Required Work history to include one or more of the following: Military experience Law enforcement experience Bachelors Degree or higher in Criminal Justice Work history must also include one or more of the following: One (1) year of verifiable experience in guest services One (1) year of verifiable experience in sales One (1) year of customer service Skills Required Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Effective oral and written communication skills Active listening skills Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately Attention to detail Other Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States Be able to work flexible schedules Must have access to reliable transportation to and from the site location Must have outstanding verbal communication skills Must gave a proven proactive approach and ability to self-initiate work Must possess strong time management, organizational and decision making skills Must have experience dealing with customers, troubleshooting or managing stressful situations Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a SIRA certification Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military Physical Requirements and Environment Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Extensive standing and walking, sitting, minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
