The Payroll / Human Resource Administrator handles and supports various employee programs within the organization and works closely with the Human Resource Manager. This position performs work of moderate difficulty in benefits administration, payroll, collecting data, and employment law compliance, and related work as assigned. Job Duties * Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data to include garnishments, vacation time, sick time, insurance and 401(k) deductions * Utilize Time and Attendance system to produce accurate and timely payroll hours * Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws * Review electronic and paper time sheets for completeness, accuracy, and contact various department supervisors for any missed times * Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures * Assist with new-employee orientations * Assist with benefits administration and communicating benefits information to employees * Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database * Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent with some college course work required * Associates degree in HR, business administration or related field preferred * At least 2 years in the HR function with experience in Payroll * Excellent proficiency in HRIS/Payroll, MS Excel, Word, and Outlook * General understanding of state/federal requirements and regulations as it pertains to employment laws * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively & work collaboratively at all levels of the organization and within teams * High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation GFL Environmental is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
