    Duties: With preliminary direction from a Professional Engineer, work on project engineering of small and large international projects from concept and schematic design through construction documents to construction administration; work on a wide variety of building projects, including complex geometry structures, commercial, institutional, civic, and aviation projects, sport facilities, high rise, and long span structures; use state-of-the-art structural Finite Element and Non-Linear Analysis programs, including Oasys package (GSA), ETABS, SAFE, RAM SS, RAM Concept RISA 3D and SAP2000 to perform Non-Linear analysis, human induced vibration analysis of floor plates and long span structures, dynamic analysis and seismic response calculations; use advanced coding skills, including Python and Visual Basic, to interpret, develop and update coding scripts to facilitate structural design, vibration analysis of complex floor plans, by utilizing external libraries, and following different programs’ API; improve interoperability between structural analysis packages and Revit, also using custom script with coding software, including Python, and Visual Basic; manage firm structural coding scripts using coding skill Git and program GitHub to incorporate changes from all offices together and distribute/maintain the latest updates across the board; perform analysis and design of structural systems for all type of buildings and materials using various national and international building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, TMS, Eurocodes, International Building Code and NYC Building Code; perform gravity and lateral analysis, containing wind and seismic design using Response-Spectrum Analysis, Pushover Nonlinear Analysis, and Equivalent Lateral Force method from concept design through construction phase of steel and reinforced concrete structures for projects in high seismic regions; manage projects from start to finish, such as attending meetings, coordinating with other consultants and in-house team, construction administration, site visit, and reviewing budget; provide manpower estimates, project communications, budget monitoring, and inputs, and organize deliverables, setting project standards for delivery; conduct in-house training and development of Junior engineers in the use of analysis applications, including ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA 3D, RAM SS, RAM Concept, RAM Connection, EnerCalc, S-Column; attend meetings with clients and promote positive client contact with current and prospective clients; work on competition submissions and conceptual design projects using Rhino and Grasshopper; provide support to Business Development, including write-up of key aspects of projects and presentation of work at industry events, and prepare fee estimates and assumptions for a particular discipline on potential projects; work on fast-track projects; research and develop new technology, codes, and details to improve analytic processes and documentation, common solutions, and critical solutions; work in integrated design teams, collaborating with multiple practices across the firm; coordinate project design and deliverables, preparing contract documents, including drawings and specifications; visit project sites during construction for reviews of quality, progress, and compliance with specifications and standards; perform site visit surveys to determine engineering strategies for renovation, and to document and evaluate existing systems; conduct project reviews at all stages of design; coordinate the quality and timely delivery of the projects to budget; respond to demands of the projects and formulate design decisions; provide design inputs and reviews of other engineer’s projects; improve analytic processes and documentation, common solutions, and critical solutions; participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions, and taking on issues where appropriate; use advanced modeling programs, including REVIT, Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, SketchUp and AutoCAD to develop parametric structural analytical 3D models; use Revit to develop, review and modify plan, details and drawings of structural engineering systems and components, and to check clearances or potential conflicts and relationships of the various parts to the whole and to one another; develop typical details, specifications, and drawing standards, including development of Revit standards in coordination with the BIM team; research improvement of engineering design and design processes; research industry and technology changes and trends, and recommend changes in approach and services as appropriate.

    Required Skills

    Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technologies, or foreign equivalent, PE license from any US state, and 2 years of experience in Structural Designer, Structural Engineer or related occupations.
