    Globe Life Corp. is looking for a Data Visualization specialist who will drive the Data and BI transformation within our company. This person will work with the teams across the company to increase data literacy, data quality and help visualize the profound insights drawn from the data. This person should be viewed as the leader in the data and visualization field. This person should be dedicated to results and has genuine passion about enabling users and teaching them the best practices in data and visualization. This individual will guide the users through the cultural transformation by showing them the Art of the possible via interactive and intuitive visual designs. We aspire to not only enable our data and BI teams, but also help them scale and mature in their practice.

    Required Skills

    • Passionate about visualization and cultural transformation.
    • Ability to communicate users across organization to derive analytical insights.
    • Conduct user interviews to understand and document current user data, insights and analytics needs.
    • Review and interpret data and translate into actionable insights.
    • Intermediate to strong SQL skills: create stored procedures, views and joins in tables.
    • Knowledge of AWS and associated tools.
    • Ability to visualize the story telling dashboard based on the user interviews and insights.
    • Basic understanding of the data visualization best practices.
    • Create the next generations of dashboards delivering data insights through best in class visualization.
    • Design, develop and deploy dashboards.
    • Ability to create and publish multi source data views and Meta data management.
    • Ability to create analytics pane, including but not limited to forecasting, trend, and cluster analysis.
    • Create charts, graphs, infographics, dashboards, etc. to support knowledge acquisition and decision making.
    • Expertise in the research, development, and support of data visualization techniques.
    • Strong communication & presentation skills, particularly with internal clients, team leads, & managers.
    • Ability to take initiative and work with a high level of independence.
    • Strong understanding of the maturity process of the CoE and ability to create a roadmap for each group’s maturity process and timeline.
    • Strong knowledge of best practices for dashboards and BI reporting with emphasis in design and publishing.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision.
    • Understanding of table calculations as well as application of parameters.

     

    Required Experience

    • 3-5 years of hands on experience with Tableau, and Database query writing skills.
    • Previous experience leading Visualization CoE and Tableau User Group.
    • Experience in Agile Scrum.
    • Experience with requirements gathering and understanding the needs of the end user.
    • Expert knowledge of enterprise database tools and ecosystems.
    • Work with source systems, ETL tools and SQL processes to understand/build/debug the sources of visualization data.
    • Expert SQL skills, with detailed experience in Informatica, SQL Server or other SQL databases.
    • Proven experience solving complex business issues through data-related tools.
