  • Responsibilities

    As a Production Artist, you are an integral part of the Globe Life Customer Communications team in Oklahoma City, assisting with a variety of print and digital media projects related to the company’s national marketing initiatives. The Production Artist is responsible for the design and production of consumer-facing communications. This position will work heavily in technical personalization software in order to set communications up correctly to be printed. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented candidate who enjoys working on the more technical side of design.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Use CCM software to set up marketing materials

    • Use Adobe software on a Mac platform to execute copy, layout, and design changes to a variety of print and digital media, including customer communications, billing, envelopes and other promotional materials

    • Assist in the creation of new marketing material from templates and existing artwork

    • Maintain brand standards in print collateral and digital design projects

    • Prepare files for prepress and print production with precise instructions for web and/or laser printing

    • Maintain strict timelines and file delivery for multiple production jobs per week

    • Ensure accuracy of design files during various stages of development

    • Communicate with management to ensure expectations and deadlines are met

    • Maintain organized archive of electronic files

    • Other duties as assigned by management

     

    PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS MAINLY A TASK-ORIENTED, PRODUCTION-BASED POSITION. PEOPLE WHO WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS JOB ARE THOSE WHO ENJOY MAKING EDITS AND MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING ARTWORK AND DOCUMENTS.  

    Required Skills

    • Proficient in latest Mac OS
    • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat
    • Mastery of visual design fundamentals and tools: typography, layout and color
    • Knowledge of art file requirements and color management for traditional press and digital press production  
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to focus and follow tasks from beginning to end
    • Excellent organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills
    • Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects, working with speed and accuracy 
    • Must be self-motivated, comfortable working both independently and within a team environment
    • Able to adapt to quick changes and tight deadlines
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Desire to learn and stay on top of innovation

    Required Experience

    • Degree in graphic design or equivalent work experience
    • 1-3 years in design work
    • Preferred experience in print production including prepress experience
