    American Income Life Insurance Company has an opening for an HR Generalist to join their team in our corporate office located in Waco, Texas.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The HR Generalist will assist company management on issues related to human resources. This individual will be a proactive communicator, and is someone who can successfully manage the needs of the employees and the unions.  The individual in this position formulates partnerships across the business, including union leadership, to deliver value-added service that reflects the HR objectives for the organization.

     RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Partner with company management to ensure consistent HR policies, practices, procedures, and strategies are being executed as designed.
    • Administrative duties which includes managing employee performance issues in partnership with the union, and managing the job posting duties as defined in the CBA.
    • Provides input for company-wide HR initiatives and programs to ensure alignment with business requirements.
    • Assists management with respect to employee relations and performance management issues, with an emphasis on early identification and resolution
    • Partnering with specialized HR teams and business leaders to ensure specific needs of the company are being met.
    • Provide HR policy guidance as well as general guidance as defined in the CBA.
    • General HR program/policy development, administration, and compliance
    • Employee hiring, onboarding, termination, and records maintenance
    • Employee and labor relations and communications
    • Rewards program coordination and/or administration
    • Relocation services (domestic and international)
    • Immigration services
    • HR related training In some organizations, General HR may also be accountable for some or all of the following:
    • HR Business Partnership (consulting and coaching)
    • Mobility (strategy and design)
    • Staffing and Recruiting
    • Talent and Organization Performance
    • Training and Development
    • Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Required Skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to present information professionally; comfort working with people at all levels within the organization.
    • ADAPTABILITY: Comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment; flexible in response to changing employee needs; maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.
    • ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: Extremely organized; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; meticulous attention to detail.

    Additional responsibilities:

    • General knowledge of HR practices as they relate in a union environment.
    • Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift 
    • Ability to work Full-Time and/or Part-Time based on the specific position for which you're applying

     

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • One year progressively responsible employee/labor relations experience in a unionized environment.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
