The Information Security Intern will be responsible for assisting with security awareness related activities including creating monthly phishing campaigns, drafting email tips, creating one awareness campaign and assist with creating a badging and security ambassador program. Collaborate with risk management, threat management, incident response, security architecture functions.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the enterprise security awareness program within the insurance industry.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with current security awareness initiatives for the enterprise as well as collaborating on ways to mature the program
- Identify opportunities to increase employee engagement
- Research and create a draft for a security awareness ambassador program
- Assist with creating an electronic badging program recognizing employees that have attained all required trainings within a calendar year
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of information security.
- An ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and pay attention to sources of information from inside and outside one’s network within an organization.
- Excellent prioritization capabilities, with an aptitude for breaking down work into manageable parts, effectively assessing the priority and time required to complete each part.
- Verbal and written communication of complex information that is accurate and timely.
- Using a personal computer in a Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) environment, and accurately performing data entry.
- Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers and external contacts.
- Work effectively in a professional team environment.

Education
- Currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student with a declared major in Information Assurance, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant program and within 24 months of graduation.
