As the Senior Finance Manager – Legal Project Management at Latham, you will support the firm by using your experience and understanding of law firm revenue cycle, fee structures, alternative fee arrangements, systems, and project management to lead and execute initiatives towards improving the firms successful adoption of leading practices of legal project management and other department strategic initiatives.  The Senior Manager liaises with the Director of Pricing, Director of Revenue and Financial Analyses, and colleagues in the Business Development, Technology, and Attorney Development departments in order to develop initiatives that support the firm's attorneys in all facets of managing their fee negotiations and structures, inventory and collections while accomplishing these and other critical functions:  

    • Spearheading development and rollout of initiatives that enhances the firm’s abilities to competitively price and sell our professional services in addition to developing tools to enable our attorneys and others to monitor worked inventories and ultimately drive improved
    • Gaining understanding of current procedures through discussions, interviews, and observation; documenting processes for comparison against proposed
    • Identifying potential improvements through current process and system documentation, discussions with stakeholders, including those who perform actual work
    • Collaborating with functional teams, attorneys, management, and technology to build consensus on changes and future state
    • Leading projects from design to implementation stages including providing management updates on progress, issues and areas where escalation is required
    • Leading project team members as assigned to various projects and initiatives
    • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers

    As the Senior Finance Manager – Legal Project Management, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Senior Manager must have the strong analytical skills needed for all primary duties of the position, including comprehending and communicating data, ideas, and processes, as well as advanced process documentation, process design, and project management skills.  The ability to consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion is desired.  The Senior Manager must display demonstrated superior judgment and be meticulous and results driven.  Strong knowledge and proficiency of PC applications, including MS Office with superior proficiency specifically of MS Excel and MS Visio is desired. Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or a related field is required; an MBA is preferred.  A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in a law firm is desired.  A minimum of five (5) years of leading projects and other initiatives is desired.  A minimum of four (4) years of supervisory/management experience is desired.  Occasional travel is required of this position.     • Proficiency in Newforma preferred.
    • Must be detail-oriented and able to handle confidential information at the highest level.

    • Ability to work in team environment.
    • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
    • For those who provide BIM support; proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop (Revit preferred).
