AV EngineerLocations US-CA-IrvineJob ID 2018-5490Type Regular Full-TimeDivision IES Communications Job Description Job Summary:The AV Engineer will be highly skilled in the design of advanced professional audio, video and video conferencing solutions in the audio visual commercial integration industry.Job Duties and Responsibilities: The AV Engineer will be responsible for reviewing site surveys, designing customer solutions based on requirements, estimating, and producing documentation suitable for sales presentations and system installation, and control system programming scopes. The AV Engineer must be able to produce advanced audio visual designs including: control flow diagrams, video and audio componentsThe AV Engineer must have the ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical (MEP) drawing sets.The AV Engineer must have experience designing with the latest AV products including AMX, Biamp, Crestron, Extron, Panasonic, Polycom, BSS, and Cisco.The AV Engineer will prepare proposals and designs for audiovisual system integrations and installations.The AV Engineer will create construction and system integration documents (CAD Drawings, Blue Prints and CSI Specifications)The AV Engineer will communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams and vendorsThe AV Engineer will provide sales and technical staff with high end technical support on both a pre- and post-sales basis including attending project meetings.The AV Engineer will contributing to design review and code review as required.The AV Engineer will develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offersOther responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements:The AV Engineer must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.Must have proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.Must able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelors Degree preferred.Will have at least 3-4 years of overall audio visual commercial integration industry experience as a hands on A/V Design Engineer working commercial integration projectsMust have a proven track record in audio visual systems engineering and control systems commissioningMust have the ability to write a scope of work and finalize a system deployment and build-outAutoCAD and Visio experience (preferred)Must be able to work well with other peopleMust be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).Must meet Company minimum driving standards.Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
