    American Income Life is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Data Analyst to join their growing team in the Agent Licensing department supporting our Waco, TX office.  This is a full time position with the option to work remote, onsite or hybrid.

     

    BUSINESS ANALYSTS HAVE A WIDE VARIETY OF DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING:

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and quarterly reporting for multiple Globe Life divisions
    • Use Microsoft Excel, MS Access and SQL to develop key sales metric reporting
    • Focus on and maintain data accuracy
    • Keep report and process documentation updated
    • Coordinate with other departments to gather information and resolve potential issues
    • Audit other teammate reports for accuracy and completeness
    • Ad hoc reporting and analysis
    • Analyze data and reports to provide insights into trends
    • Identify and explain reporting anomalies
    • Gather and organize information about a problem to be solved. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
    • Research emerging technologies or business analysis systems that can help Recommend and help implement new systems, procedures, or changes. Works with the project team members on all phases of initiatives
    • Interview employees and observe the problem or process in action, brainstorm solutions or other procedures
    • Analyze financial data to help understand the situation, analyze cost benefits of proposed changes
    • Report on findings to stakeholders
    • Train employees and stakeholders on new practices or procedures
    • Collaborates with all functional business units to achieve strategic, tactical and project goals.
    • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
    • Monitors milestone completion, tracks all phases of the project product/service life-cycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions, and resolving conflicts. This includes documenting, prioritizing and tracking requests.
    • Conducts project meetings, meets with project team(s) regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines, and meets with appropriate personnel for periodic reviews of prototypes and final products.
    • Consulting role with business units in developing user acceptance test plans and procedures for end user testing, ensuring that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and I.T.
    • Facilitate meetings for all levels of the organization.
    • Provides status updates and reporting on assigned projects.

    Required Skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    • Must be able to see the big picture while having an exceptionally detail-oriented focus
    • Strong (Advanced) proficiency with Excel is required (complex functions and macros)
    • Access Database manipulation and SQL proficiency is required
    • Completes work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
    • Gauges workflow to allow for working on multiple reports where overlap exists
    • Meets deadlines consistently
    • Able to identify issues and recommend solutions
    • Experience working in both a team and individual environment, leveraging skills of peers and supervisors/SME to expand knowledge

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience OR 4+ years’ experience OR promotion
    • Experience as an Analyst in insurance industry or similar field a plus
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision
    • able to overcome project obstacles and escalate quickly when appropriate
    • Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift
    • Strong ownership and consistent deliver of assignments and artifacts required
