    Location: Tampa, 33067 – Hybrid
    Must be onsite a minimum of (3) days weekly and as required for meetings

    Pay: $38.00 per hour

    Type: Contract-to-hire

    Schedule: May exceed a 40 hour work week, must be able to work late on Mondays/Tuesdays, possibly Saturdays

     

    Job description:

    1. Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll for approximately 3,000 employees, ensuring accurate and timely execution across all pay cycles.
    2. Maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations, including payroll audits, reconciliations, tax filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.).
    3. Support HRIS transition efforts by performing data validation, parallel testing, troubleshooting discrepancies, and resolving payroll-related system issues.
    4. Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, handling sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
    5. Document payroll procedures, drive process improvements, contribute to special projects, and collaborate cross-functionally in a hybrid work environment based in the Tampa-area office near the airport.

    Requirements:

    • UKG required: Must have (3)+ years of direct, hands-on, payroll processing in UKG Pro (OR active participation in a recent UKG Pro conversion, data mapping, testing, etc.)
    • In-depth complex payroll required: This role is not time entry, we will not consider other systems like ADP, Paychex, must have experience with both non-exempt and exempt populations, limited training
    • Benefits deduction administration: Must have experience with benefits deduction administration
    • Advanced MS Excel: Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, large data set manipulation, reconciliation, and file mapping/import
    • Multi-state, 1,000 EE+: Must have payroll processing with a minimum of (3) states, 1,000+ employees as the sole owner (not working with a team on payroll)
    • Taxes: Must have tax setup and reconciliation, GL interface management, year-end processing W2, quarterly filings
    • Troubleshooting: Must be able to troubleshoot complex payrolls
    • Tenure: Must have demonstrated tenure, prefer 3+ years in at least one recent role, must provide reasons for leaving
    • Workspace: Must have high-speed internet, private designated workspace
