    Industrial Engineering - Productivity and Inventory Process Intern Date: May 10, 2018 LOCATION: Plymouth, MN, US Company: Pelican Products, Inc. PELICAN BIOTHERMAL is a global leader in providing the life sciences industry with the most comprehensive suite of patented and award winning thermal protection packaging solutions for the safe transport of pharmaceuticals, clinical trials, diagnostics, tissue, vaccines and blood supplies. Pelican is proud to be offering a 9-week Summer Internship Program from June 11th to August 10th. Interns will typically work 32 hours per week and have the opportunity to receive hands-on work experience and participate on special projects. Interns will also attend presentations by Pelican leadership as well as participate in special networking and social activities. The Industrial Engineering Productivity and Inventory Process Intern position will work on a project to streamline the flow of inventory through the Pelican BioThermal production area and help build the case for streamlined technical and info system upgrades for inventory transactions. This is a great opportunity to receive hands-on experience in developing and managing a project plan, developing a process map and productivity tracker for each work area. To qualify for this internship, you should have very good analytical, verbal and written communication skills and be organized, methodical, detail oriented. You should also be able to work independently and be willing to learn how to apply statistics in manufacturing supply chain operations. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is necessary; Visio is helpful. Students majoring in Computer Science, Operations and Engineering are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to children and relatives of Pelican employees, but external candidates will be considered if we are unable to fill positions. Candidates should be actively attending college and entering into their junior or senior year of college in Fall 2018. If you are selected to move on to the next step, you will be sent an invitation on or around May 14th to participate in either a phone, video or in-person interview.
