    JOB SUMMARY

    Monday-Friday - 8am-5pm

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Specialist to serve as a technical authority and quality enabler within production operations. This role is an elite individual contributor recognized for deep technical expertise in electronics and electro-mechanical repair who elevates quality, consistency, and technical discipline through hands-on leadership, mentorship, and standardization.

Operating within the Quality Engineering function, the Quality Engineering Specialist strengthens technical capability at the point of execution by resolving complex escalations, improving first-pass success, and preventing repeat failures. Through coaching, guided problem solving, and partnership with shop leadership and training resources, this role accelerates technician development, reinforces quality standards, and reduces quality-related risk such as warranty exposure and unnecessary scrap.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled technical professional who wants to lead through expertise, influence outcomes beyond their own bench, and play a visible role in building a stronger, more capable operation

    Technical Leadership & Mentorship

    • Develop technicians’ diagnostic reasoning, technical confidence, and adherence to quality standards, rather than simply providing answers.
    • Support onboarding and ramp-up of newly hired technicians by accelerating skill development and technical independence.
    • Act as a trusted technical presence within daily operations, reinforcing a culture of learning, accountability, and craftsmanship.
    • Contribute to technician engagement and retention by supporting skill growth and professional development.

Subject Matter Expertise & Escalation Support

    • Provide technical decision support for product performance viability, BER determinations, and warranty-related evaluations in partnership with Quality Engineering leadership.
    • Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to resolve repeat failures, warranty drivers, and systemic technical risks.
    • Maintain deep, current knowledge of assigned product families, emerging failure modes, and evolving production techniques.

    Training, Standardization & Knowledge Systems

    • Contribute to the development, refinement, and maintenance of work instructions, repair procedures, diagnostic guides, and training materials.
    • Support formal and informal training initiatives, including development plans that strengthen technician capability and consistency.
    • Identify knowledge gaps and proactively propose training, documentation, or process improvements
    • Reinforce adoption of standard work to improve quality, predictability, and repeatability across repair operations.

    Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

    • Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support daily technical needs, escalation management, and capability planning.
    • Provide technical insight to support corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and prevention-at-the-source efforts.
    • Participate in improvement activities focused on quality, consistency, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination, with customer impact in mind.
    • Share lessons learned and best practices to strengthen technical capability across operations.
