    JOB SUMMARY

    Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

    We are seeking a Quality Engineering Training Specialist to serve as a technical capability builder and training authority within repair and production operations. This role is responsible for developing technician skills, consistency, and confidence through hands-on training, mentorship, and structured learning, ensuring quality standards are understood, applied, and sustained at the point of execution.

    Operating within Quality Engineering (Pillar 1), the Training Specialist partners closely with Quality Engineering leadership, technical SMEs, and shop leadership to strengthen onboarding, accelerate technician development, and reinforce disciplined repair and testing practices. This role plays a critical part in improving first-pass quality, reducing repeat failures, and building a sustainable pipeline of capable technical talent.

    This position is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys teaching, coaching, and shaping how work is done while remaining closely connected to day-to-day operations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    Technical Training & Capability Development

    · Deliver hands-on technical training for new and developing technicians, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing, soldering, and repair techniques.

    · Support onboarding and ramp up of new hires by accelerating skill development and technical independence.

    · Reinforce correct application of work instructions, test procedures, and quality standards at the bench level.

    · Help technicians build diagnostic reasoning and disciplined repair habits, rather than relying on trial-and-error approaches.


    Mentorship & Skill Progression

    · Serve as a technical mentor and coach, providing structured guidance and real-time feedback.

    · Support technician progression through defined skill levels by identifying gaps and development needs.

    · Promote consistency, craftsmanship, and accountability through daily engagement with technicians.

    · Contribute to technician engagement and retention by supporting professional growth and confidence.

    Training Systems, Documentation & Standardization

    · Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of training materials, work instructions, diagnostic guides, and job aids.

    · Partner with Quality Engineering and technical SMEs to ensure training content reflects current standards and known failure modes.

    · Identify recurring knowledge gaps and recommend updates to training, documentation, or standard work.

    · Support adoption of standardized training approaches to improve consistency and predictability across operations.


    Quality Support & Continuous Improvement

    · Partner with Quality Engineering and Operations to support quality improvement initiatives tied to technician capability.

    · Provide training input during corrective action development to ensure technical learnings are embedded and sustained.

    · Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing rework, repeat failures, and quality escapes.

    · Reinforce prevention-at-the-source thinking through training and coaching.

    METRICS

    · Technician skill progression (80% of technicians **** to Level 3 certification or higher)

    · Reduction in rework, repeat failures, and training-related quality issues

    · First-pass quality improvement tied to technician capability

    · Effectiveness and adoption of training materials and standard work

    · Technician engagement and retention indicators

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    · None.

    · This role leads through training expertise, mentorship, and influence, not formal people management.



    QUALIFICATIONS: __

    · Senior electronics experience with 5 years or more on the bench within your product area of expertise

    · Must understand the repair of Industrial Controls cycle; ability to understand the Radwell International repair of Industrial Controls cycle

    · Strong technical skills: ability to learn and understand Radwell repair of Industrial Controls processes and procedures

    · Must be a driven individual and Team player

    · Required to bring your own tools as specified by the hiring manager

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Strong hands-on technical expertise in electronics or electro-mechanical repair
    • Ability to teach, coach, and transfer knowledge effectively
    • Understanding of structured repair, testing, and quality discipline
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
    • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced repair environments
    • Being able to multi-task

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    · High School Diploma or equivalent required

    · Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics or related field preferred

    · 5+ years of hands-on technical repair experience and/or technical training preferred

    · Prior experience training, mentoring, or coaching others strongly preferred

    · Technical knowledge of electronic or industrial products is highly desirable



    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    · Technical School Certification (related field) preferred

    · Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving training a plus

    EMPLOYEE EVALUATION SUMMARY

    Employee will be evaluated on quantitative productivity levels regarding number of repairs that result from actions, number of items processed/followed-up and related activity. In addition to regular coaching, employee will receive the following written evaluations:

    · Introductory Review -- Will be written at approximately 80 days after employment and will be used to determine whether employee has sufficiently met and performed the job requirements, and will indicate whether employment will continue

    · Monthly Reviews – Employee will be given a brief written monthly review primarily focused on quantitative performance and measurement of activity

    · Annual Reviews – Employee will be given a formal regular annual review, which assesses productivity and demonstrated business skills and accomplishments for the previous period.


    WORK SCHEDULE

    Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional hours may be required to support onboarding, training needs, or critical issues.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Dress attire is casual but professional in a warehouse setting. All employees are required to wear Security access card and encouraged to wear apparel with company logo. All employees must always adhere to Safety Policies. All handheld users are required to wear the appropriate belt/holster assembly while a unit is in their possession.

    Closed toe, hard soled shoes must be worn. Safety shoes are recommended.

    Production Floor Environment: This position is based on a moderately loud production floor where employees must be able to work safely around mobbing machinery, robotic equipment, and material handling vehicles. The environment includes frequent exposure to mechanical noise, alarms, and activity from people and machines.

    Sensory Environment : Employees must be able to verbally communicate and hear clearly to answer phones, respond to auditory alarms, and remain aware of robotic systems, forklifts, utility vehicles, and other personnel. Good visual acuity is essential to monitor the surrounding area for moving equipment and material transfers. This role requires walking throughout the production area and maintaining situational awareness through both hearing and sight to ensure movement and task completion.
