Accounting Intern (Fall) Department: Accounting Location: Syracuse, NY Rapid Response Monitoring, a national leader in alarm monitoring services, is seeking an Accounting Intern. The Intern will assist in performing the Company?s accounting and bookkeeping functions under the direction of the Controller. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to all areas of Accounting and perform duties as assigned by the Controller: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Assist with special projects as needed. * Perform daily bank reconciliations. * Apply daily cash receipts to the proper accounts. * Process accounts payable functions such as disbursements. * Participate in the month-end closing process: * Assist with monthly job costing. * Analyze registers prior to posting. * Prepare monthly journal entries. * Create monthly financial statements. Qualifications: * Basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to make simple calculations. * Excellent attention to detail. * Proficiency of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Current enrollment in post-secondary collegiate school in Accounting or related field.
