THE ROLE Works under general direction to model complex business problems, discover insights and identify opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. Integrate and prepare large and varied datasets, assist with architecting specialized databases and computing environments to support business needs and Recology standards. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Evangelize and build data-fueled models/products that help Recology improve its business outcomes. Become an expert in our CRM, ArcGIS, Routeware, Routesmart, Salesforce and 3rd party application datasets. Work with cross-functional team members to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact insights across a variety of core business areas. Lead applied analytics initiatives that are leveraged across the breadth of our solutions at Recology. Develops advanced statistical and econometric models to predict, quantify or forecast various operational and performance metrics. Research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms to analyze diverse sources of data to achieve targeted outcomes. Models and frames business scenarios and models that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions. Partners with the data stewards in continuous improvement processes impacting data quality in the context of the specific use cases. Observes current systems/processes and interacts with the appropriate personnel. Utilizing a variety of sources, collects and analyzes information to support the modeling and analysis Support GIS expertise as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Three to five years of related experience. ArcGIS experience required. Experience with Routesmart preferred, but not required. Experience working with large-scale data sets in an advanced data mining analytic role. Programming experience (preferably in Python).
