You can G.R.O.W. with Us by becoming our Dispatcher THE ROLE Schedules drivers, collectors and vehicles to routes ensuring timely and efficient pick ups. Responsible for effective communications with transportation personnel and customers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND NOT LIMITED TO: Assigns drivers and collectors to routes and special pick ups for complete and timely services. Arranges alternate coverage of service in case of employee absence or equipment failure. Schedules vacations. Acts as a conduit to gather and distribute information to drivers (via 2-way radio, telephone and service tickets) from Customer Service, Maintenance, and manages the communications to ensure completion of tasks. Routes drivers for efficient operations. Receives customer requests and schedules service. May respond to customer questions and complaints about service including discussing issues with drivers in order to understand the situation. Resolves disputes involving employees and employee representative May investigate and report on workers injuries, vehicle accidents, and other incidents. Communicates with Safety Department and Human Resources concerning workers compensation and non-industrial absences, return to work statuses and temporary alternative work matters. Prepares daily reports on headcount including metrics such as number of sick call-ins, vacations, leaves, and routes staffed. Records schedules and hours worked by employees and completes payroll records on a daily basis. Proofs daily payroll with various reports and rosters. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Education & Experience High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years experience as a dispatcher or related position. Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications.
