Job Description Job Summary: Laundry Worker, collects, washes and/or distributes clean linens and apparel for assigned clinical areas. Responsibilities: * Collects and sorts soiled linens and apparel. Stocks and distributes clean linens and apparel, adhering to infection control guidelines. * Performs daily inventory to ensure clean linens and apparel are accurately stocked and distributed. Identifies items for repair or replacement and notifies management. * Washes, dries or folds laundered linens and apparel. May operate all laundry equipment according to operating instructions and departmental policies. * Maintains work area and equipment in clean, working condition. * Other duties as assigned. * Transports linen carts to all assigned hospital campus areas. Assists with the training of new associates as directed by Lead associates. * Practices safe infection control techniques when handling soiled linen. Changes patient area curtains and drapes as directed by a Lead associate. * Industrial laundry procedures and practices are the basis for the daily function of this position. Qualifications Education and Work Experience: * Less Than HS Graduate Required: Less than High School graduate at date of hire Preferred: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) at date of hire * Required: No experience at date of hire.
