The Associate Scientist will be responsible for supporting early formulation research and development of small molecule therapeutics, from first in-vivo studies through first-in-human clinical trials.
- Conduct miniaturized formulation and stability studies, analytical methods development and solid-state characterization to support early drug development projects.
- Track and manage the lab activities, properly document all experiments performed and upkeep the instrumentation.
- Work in small molecule preclinical formulation and serve as a key player in designing the first formulations for in-vivo experiments through first-in-human clinical formulation.
- Document data accurately in laboratory notebook, evaluate data, create reports and assist with compound characterization reports.
- Maintain efficient, innovative and GRP-compliant internal processes.
- Participate in and contribute to CMC leadership and team meetings, including departmental meetings and sub-team meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a laboratory role
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with strong team-oriented skills in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related bioscience discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 plus years of industry experience or master’s degree with 1 plus years of industry experience in small molecule formulation in a biopharmaceutical company
- Expert knowledge of pre-clinical formulation development for small molecules
- Expert knowledge of small molecule pharmaceutical analytics, including liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, solid state characterization, and stability assessments
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with strong team-oriented skills in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
- Proven ability to manage activities on multiple complex projects in parallel
- Familiarity with quality systems and documentation for research in a GRP environment
