A client in the San Diego area is currently looking for a Controller to run finance and accounting operations for a growing manufacturing company. This exciting position will be responsible for consolidations, financial reporting of various business streams, maintaining cost accounting best practices, etc.

• Responsible for directing and supervising all Accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, presentation and analysis, monthly and annual close process and review, and global assurance of financial compliance in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee departments to include: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance, Payroll, HR
• Responsible for financial systems, creation and maintenance of internal controls and Accounting policies
• Develop and implement Cost Accounting methods and measures that support the cost controls and visibility
• Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns with outside tax and audit providers
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions globally.
• Develop reporting packages
• Conduct ad hoc analysis to present to management
• Work closely with business streams to produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports
• Participate in month-end planning

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Advanced MS Office skills to include advanced Excel skills
• Strong project management skills
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles, practices, and controls
• Experience in cost accounting
