    Our client is looking for a Controller to join their team.

    The controller will handle high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee financial activities of the company.As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from payroll to tax compliance. This position will report to the CFO and will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.

    The Controller is a key leader of financial operations for our rapidly growing company.

    This role will be responsible for providing technical accounting expertise, ownership and improvement of financial processes, and development of a high performing accounting team. The Controller must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of leader and should enjoy a fast-paced environment.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    ?Oversee all accounting functions

    ?Ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparation and reporting on a GAAP compliant basis to the CFO, Leadership Team, Shareholders, Board of Directors, Lenders and Auditors

    ?Ensure a rigorous financial controls environment within the business to maintain compliance with current and anticipated legal and regulatory requirements

    ?Establish new policies and procedures across the combined enterprise and improve existing policies and procedures as required

    ?Build a culture of high performance, healthy collaboration, and rapid development by setting high expectations for staff, providing opportunities for development, and personally providing feedback and coaching to teammates

    ?Anticipates needs and ensures development and maintenance of robust, scalable capabilities (processes, systems, policies/procedures, organization and compliance) to support the company’s rapid growth

    ?Act as annual external audit liaison for all financial audits

    ?Ensure appropriate resources and staffing of the department to meet business needs

    ?Represent the accounting function in M&A analysis and integration

    ?Oversee special projects as assigned

    Requirements

    ?Strong technical accounting skills and experience in financial reporting and analysis

    ?Experience performing and overseeing Accounting, Treasury, and Financial Reporting

    ?History of developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, controls and financial reporting requirements

    ?Multi-entity, CPG, and Supply Chain experience in a high growth company

    ?Ability to drive projects to completion, manage competing priorities and provide guidance to the team and business on prioritization

    ?Strong management and leadership skills

    ?Excellent communication skills

    ?Success in a fast-paced, startup environment

    ?Proven track record of cross functional relationships across the organization

    ?Cannabis industry experience a plus, but not required.

    ?Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s Degree or MBA a plus
