JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Client is looking for a Product Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for the overall process of launching and growing new product lines and elevate the brand in the larger CPG industry. You will help position our Client as the market leader in cannabis products and position the company as a primary partner for business development opportunities. This position will lead and execute full cycle product development across high quality THC and CBD products. This role is full-time, based in Venice, CA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct market research and analyze feasibility to identify/validate opportunities in the cannabis and CBD space that align with the overall product strategy
• Research and identify market and competitive trends, current and emerging competitors
• Collaborate on new product concepts and ideas
• Research and identify new ingredients, textures, products, and packaging to allow for greater product performance/storytelling/innovation
• Drive and lead product development process by tracking all samples and submissions, evaluating product formula, textures, and performance as well as all product testing and regulatory
• Oversee formulations of high-quality cannabis and CBD products
• Ensure consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures
• Own the go-to market program planning and management for new product lines/initiatives.
• Specify requirements and approve product development, production, packaging, display design, branding, marketing.
• Develop and execute against plans for pricing, promotions, sales, distribution.
• Review product feedback and iteratively improve the consumer experience.
• Manage feedback and communication with contract manufacturing partners, attend on-site development and approvals when needed
• Manage product development timelines and on-time delivery of critical milestones
• Evaluate product performance and quality and tracking formula, packaging submissions
• Coordinate all testing for products in development
• Conduct pricing and COGs analysis to ensure product profitability

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years work experience in the consumer packaged goods industry
• Experience managing and executing product development life cycles in food, beverage and/or health/wellness verticals required
• Knowledge of industry trends and regulations surrounding categories above
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate technical information to R&D personnel and present project information clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects through strong prioritization and planning
• Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results
• Demonstrate a can-do attitude, and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Is a team player, flexible and able to adapt to changes, with innate desire to learn and contribute
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically with exceptional organization and attention to detail

CHERRY ON TOP

• Prior experience in CPG or lifestyle branding and/or product marketing is a plus
• Cannabis experience a strong plus
