DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Respond to requests for employee information in a timely and courteous manner; ensure requester is entitled to receive specific information prior to its disclosure. * Operate standard multi-line desktop phone unit, and answer in-bound telephone calls to the general office. * Provide support with various administrative tasks as needed by Payroll Department. * The incumbent also performs a variety of other administrative support duties, operates a variety of office machines and performs other related duties as required or assigned. * The Payroll Clerk involves significant interaction with other WIS employees. This position often deals with sensitive and highly confidential matters, requiring tact and diplomacy. * Other projects as assigned on a day to day basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires basic knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Must have a basic understanding of federal and state laws as they relate to the establishment and maintenance of employee personnel records. Experience: Normally requires a minimum of one to two years related Payroll/ Human Resources or bookkeeping experience with emphasis in customer service response. Normally requires a minimum of 6-12 months related general record keeping experience, preferably involving confidential matters. Prior telephone customer service is a plus. Skills: * Ability to understand and access UltiPro Back Office, and Web Portals to gather employee data necessary to complete requests for employee information, and W-2 Forms. * Ability to effectively communicate and deal diplomatically with employees/managers and supply payroll-related information to WIS employees. * Ability to date stamp and sort mail and faxed forms, and deliver to the appropriate individuals. * Ability to operate a standard multi-line, desktop telephone unit. * Ability to operate a standard computer terminal, fax, scanner, and printer. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with solid judgment and discretion is critical * Ability to exercise concentration and accurately prioritize the work load. This will require multi-tasking while maintaining a positive attitude at all times. * Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel. * User level working knowledge of HR information systems preferred. EFFORT FACTORS: Physical Demands: * Requires the ability to sit and stand continuously, and walk occasionally. * Regularly requires a great deal of visual concentration using equipment such as a computer. * Occasionally requires lifting boxes >20 lbs * Maybe required to handle the physical demand of working extended schedules. Mental Demands: * Must be mentally adaptable and flexible to deal with a variety of people and changing priorities * Must be able to handle the pressure of working possible extended schedules, and deadlines Pay Rate $15 to $16 an hr.
