Nielsen’s Emerging Leaders Program offers a powerful and unique experience for top undergraduates interested in a leadership career with the world’s leading provider of global marketing information, consumer insights, and business media. The Commercial Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a challenging 24-month rotational program designed to identify, develop, and invest in our next generation of leaders for the Watch and Buy sides of the business.

    As a Commercial Emerging Leader, you’ll leverage analytical and consultative skills to drive comprehensive end-to-end consumer insights, enabling our clients to make faster, smarter, and better decisions to help their business grow. You will quickly discover that market research is critical to succeeding with consumers in both Watch & Buy industries.

    As a member of the Commercial track, you will participate in a variety of challenging and exciting experiences including:

    Rotational Assignments:

    The Commercial rotational assignments provide on-the-job learning and a wide breadth of knowledge. Through cross-functional project assignments, participants gain invaluable practical work experience across Client Engagement, Analytics, and Product. Assignments are available across all of Nielsen’s U.S. offices.

    Training & Development:

    Participants are also supported throughout the program with training that will enable them to meet their development objectives. The coursework content focuses on the media and marketing information areas including Industry Information, Clients, Business Processes, Technology, and a wide variety of Professional Development classes.

    Mentoring and Networking:

    Each associate is paired up with a more experienced person (mentor) who assists the participant (mentee) in developing skills and knowledge that will enhance the participant’s professional and personal growth. You will have a variety of opportunities to network with senior leaders and colleagues during training sessions, small group discussions and program-wide events.

    The Emerging Leaders Program is highly competitive and expects and looks for excellence in candidates who bring diverse backgrounds to innovation and problem solving. We look for well-rounded recent college graduates who possess the following qualities:

    • Graduated with a B.S./B.A. within the last 2 years in an analytical or human-insights focused field including but not limited to: economics, psychology, marketing, engineering, mathematics, communications, statistics, entrepreneurship, or a similar business or liberal arts degree
    • Exposure to coursework within business or market research, Excel or statistical applications (SPSS, R, Stata, etc)
    • Strong record of academic achievement (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA)
    • Permanent U.S. work authorization
    • Ability to think critically
    • Leadership and involvement in extracurriculars on campus or in your community
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills
    • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
    • Passion for media, digital, consumer product goods, retail & market research, industries
    • Willingness to commit to multi-year career with Nielsen after completion of program
    • Enthusiasm and flexibility to geographically relocate during and after the Emerging Leaders Program
