Today, there were over 500 million Tweets, over 85% of U.S. Consumers used their mobile device while watching TV, and within the next four years, women will control $28 Trillion in annual consumer spending. At Nielsen, you will help analyze and understand what all this means to our consumers, and how it truly influences and drives consumer behavior in what people watch and what people buy.
At Nielsen, we invest in you. Nielsen’s Emerging Leaders Program offers a powerful and unique experience for top undergraduates interested in a leadership career with the world’s leading provider of global marketing information, consumer insights, and business media. The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a challenging 24-month rotational program designed to develop leaders who will position Nielsen for growth while at the same time investing heavily in your growth holistically to set you up for success.
The Finance track is designed to expose you to many aspects of corporate finance including: financial planning and analysis, controllership, pricing, treasury operations, investment decision-making, and risk management. As a member of the Finance track, you will participate in a variety of challenging and exciting learning and development experiences including:
- Rotational Assignments: The Finance rotational assignments provide on-the-job learning and help to develop a wide breadth of knowledge. Through assignments, Associates gain invaluable practical work experience that can span across different geographical areas and business segments.
- Training & Development: Associates are supported throughout their tenure in the program with a variety of learning events to develop business acumen and leadership effectiveness. Associates take structured courses, taught by senior finance leaders, every rotation; these courses help to bridge the gap between school-based learning and application in the Nielsen world. Additional training areas include, but are not limited to advancing technical and soft skills, leadership and professional development.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Each Finance Associate receives coaching from multiple sources and is paired up with a more experienced leader (mentor), who assists the Associate (mentee) in developing skills and knowledge that will enhance leadership and personal growth. Associates are also paired with a junior mentor (Finance buddy), who helps to answer the everyday questions.
- Networking: Developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships is key to launching a successful career. Associates will have a variety of opportunities to network with senior leaders and numerous talented and creative colleagues from across the Nielsen organization. The opportunity to build this network is often cited as a top benefit by program participants.
- Performance Management: to support accelerated development, associates are given continuous feedback through regular 1:1’s and formal performance evaluations every quarter
