    Nielsen’s Emerging Technologist Program offers a powerful and unique experience for top Technology and Engineering undergraduates interested in pursuing a technical career with the world’s leading provider of global marketing information, consumer insights, and business media. Participants in these programs enjoy a diverse and challenging set of rotational assignments, focused technical and business training, mentoring, coaching and unparalleled networking opportunities. Participants are well prepared to take on roles that will accelerate their career and drive innovation at Nielsen.

    Develop Your Future with Nielsen The Emerging Technologist Program develops future technology experts who can innovate and drive solutions for Nielsen’s internal and external clients. Interns take on roles of increasing responsibility as they participate in exciting development experiences. Our next program begins June 2019.

    Intern Assignments The program includes a 10 week assignment. These assignments provide challenging on-the-job learning and development opportunities. Interns work on high priority assignments in various business functions

    Examples in Technology include:

    • Design and implement a Web 2.0 dynamic interface
    • Design and model a database to meet the requirements of a new platform
    • Set up a Hadoop cluster to support an analytical engine providing insights from disjointed data
    • Implement and design modules running on various embedded and real-time systems to perform data collection
    • Develop, design, and utilize mobile frameworks and SDKs to support our products and platforms

    A day in the life of an Intern may include: working in a diverse team of developers, designers, and architects; utilizing various development methodologies including, but not limited to, agile; collaborating with other technologists with diverse skillsets and experience levels; attending on-site and off-site training.

    Internships: Building towards YOUR future An Emerging Technologist Internship is definitely NOT just a summer job! You get to experience firsthand what it is like to work in the Nielsen environment. You’ll be exposed to our full-time Emerging Technologist Program by meeting and working with program Associates. You’ll work on projects requiring technical innovation and savvy to help solve Nielsen’s client and business problems.

    Candidate Opportunities: For the Summer of 2018, we are offering qualified Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 graduates the following:

    • Intern assignments in Chicago, IL or Tampa Bay area, FL (Tampa Bay only for Eng. Candidates)
    • June through mid-August internships
    • Competitive hourly salary
    • Generous sign-on bonus to defray housing and temporary relocation cost

    Selection Criteria:

    • Demonstrated technical curiosity and proficiency
    • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
    • Fewer than two years full-time work experience
    • Willingness to relocate to Tampa Bay, FL or Chicago, IL (Tampa only for Eng. Candidates)
    • Permanent US work authorization required
    • Anticipated graduation: – Fall 2019/ Spring 2020
