Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is seeking the next generation of creative individuals with a hunger for solving complex problems for large websites. Information architects design the systems and relationships that make our website work as more than just a collection of separate pages. Whether you bring a systems thinking, information science, or experience design background, you will work as part of a team with taxonomists, designers, and content architects to reinvent the architecture that governs our website and guides our developers and content creators towards a web experience that prioritizes user needs and goals.

The Information Architecture Intern is part of the IBM Marketing & Communication internship program. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively, as part of a team, on a project that addresses a strategic IBM Marketing business challenge. This is a highly visible intern program with leadership exposure throughout the summer. You will have the opportunity to showcase your final outcomes to a large audience of Marketing Leaders and Practitioners across the organization. In addition to the project, the internship includes educational, networking and social activities.

Summer Intern positions are primarily based in New York, NY, or Austin, TX.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Currently enrolled at an accredited College
• Available for an internship in Summer 2022
• Rising college senior for 2022- 2023 school year
• English: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Basic knowledge of Information Architecture
• Basic knowledge of User Experience and Design
• Basic knowledge of problem solving and analytical skills
• Pursuing a degree in Information Architecture, Information Studies, User Experience, Design, or similar
• Basic Knowledge of Agile principles
