    We are seeking a highly motivated FRONT OFFICE STRATEGY ADVISOR to join our team. The Strategy Advisor will be responsible for leading the mission-essential Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance team in support of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Research Directorate.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    This position is with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) NGA Research Directorate supports the NSG and National Security Strategy by solving hard defense and intelligence problems for the IC and DoD. NGA Research is organized into three technical offices: Foundational GEOINT; Advanced Phenomenologies; and Analytic Technologies. NGA Research delivers capabilities within these technical offices through pods, functionally organized to address specific technology needs and products. The NGA Research Mission Support Office supports the pods and technical offices. It includes Strategic Partnerships and Communications (SPC); Technology Transition, Transfer, and Protection (T3P); Program Planning and Execution (PPE); and the Research Lab Environment (RLE) teams. The Front Office Strategy Advisor must have demonstrated experience providing strategic planning, technical, programmatic and business process support to a Research organization of similar scope to NGA Research, either within the IC, DoD, or NGA partner organizations. Demonstrated leadership or management experience. Ability to distill and collate key technical and programmatic details for science and engineering concepts related to GEOINT. Ability to provide strategic-level analysis and advice on new concepts, new programs, and existing efforts.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in developing mission and vision statements and/or policy and be able to assist the government in establishing goal and objectives

    • Able to assist in developing mission and vision statements and/or policy and must possess strong written and oral communication skills and able to easily interact with senior-level directors and/or agency heads

    • Extract and synthesize complex information to prepare briefing, read-ahead and other materials

    • Assist in the preparation of routine and special topic briefings and reports; prepare and distribute briefing reports and read-ahead material

    • Assist in the creation and implementation of TR succession planning to include reviewing strategic workforce planning (SWP), work roles, and training

    • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 20 year's experience working with Research and Development projects, teams or organizations
    • Exceptional communications skills, with a strong understanding of federal budgeting disciplines
    • Strong skills with managing detailed problems and complex processes.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree or higher in physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science, or engineering and military history, political science, or government (dual major).
    • Government military or civilian experience in the National Security Council, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Offices of the Secretaries of the Military Services, Joint Staff, Military Service Staffs, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, or an intelligence agency.
    • Strong attention to detail and an eye for consistency.
    • Extensive experience using a variety of software used to prepare correspondence, including Microsoft Office programs.
    • Demonstrated success working in fast-paced and challenging environments.
    • Familiar with corporate and government design communication etiquette.

    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

    Requires a Bachelor's degree in physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science, or engineering and military history, political science, or government (dual major).

    YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

    • 20+ years w/ Bachelor's degree
    • 18+ years w/ Master's degree
