You’ll be in a key role in driving value-add digital finance projects, data analytics and process improvement initiatives. Utilizing your strong accounting and systems knowledge base, you will apply it to a wide variety of scenarios. You will also have the opportunity to provide guidance and leadership to others. Come help us keep our Finance team running better every day.
Provide support for assigned data management key fields to the Accounting organization as well as all Verizon teams utilizing these values.
Leading complex accounting and data transformation/conversion projects.
Performing analytical assignments and preparing accounting reports and reconciliations..
Assisting with data mapping and testing of ERP conversion.
Engaging the team and establishing priorities for project management of related initiatives.
Documenting existing processes and translating them into future state design needs based on stakeholder engagement.
Leading digital finance automation by partnering with IT department and internal stakeholders.
Identifying and driving the implementation of process improvement opportunities for Accounting, working closely with internal teams or service providers.
Handling resolution of inquiries and escalations from internal customers.
Working with a project manager to plan and structure work activities and set deadlines.
You’re organized, analytical, and have the ability to identify process improvements. You have solid accounting and systems knowledge across a variety of topics with the ability to self-direct, manage projects and meet deliverables. You are developing your management and leadership skills through assigned and self-driven projects and assignments. Working independently is as comfortable for you as being part of a team.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems or a related field, or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in the preparation of account reconciliations.
Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and accounting best practices.
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as (SAP, PeopleSoft, CPM/Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management, Blackline), or related systems and applications.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent.
CPA certification (or are in the process of getting certified).
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communications skills.
