You are also an energetic self-starter who shows personal initiative. In addition, you have: * Interest and background in network and system operations with an eye towards security. * A desire to be hands-on with investigating security related events on the network and operating systems. * Great investigative mind and loves detective work. * Scripting experience a plus * Undertaking a B.A./B.S./M.A. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Security. About the Role We are the eyes and ears that is protecting AppDynamics and our customers from bad actors. We want to catch malicious activities early and quickly before damage could be done. We will monitor, detect, investigate, eradicate and recover from security events in a repeatable process. The successful candidate will be curious as to what, how, and why things are happening in the environment. He/She will be part of the Security Operations team and tracking down security events on a daily basis. Here is a sampling of projects or tasks for this internship position: 1. Daily monitoring of security dashboard for suspicious events. 2. Investigate events and if necessary, initiate remediation runbooks. 3. Assist with tuning of security monitoring tools to increase efficacy while reducing false positives. 4. Work with business units while investigating and remediating incidents. 5. Writing or revising security process and procedures to ensure actions are repeatable and consistent.
