Your Role and Responsibilities

THIS POSITION IS FOR A 12 MONTH CO'OP THE DURATION WILL BE JANUARY THROUGH AUGUST FULL TIME AND PART TIME (20 HOURS) THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR. As a Back End Software Developer Co'op:

• You will contribute to the design and implementation of new database warehousing functionality that are reusable, scalable and meet critical architecture goals.
• Design and code servers, services, applications and databases that are reusable, scalable and meet critical architecture goals
• Are experiencedwith client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and using databases.
• Have an understanding of user and system requirements
• You will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and unit and function test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers.
• You will investigate and resolve function test, system test, and performance problems.
• Have an understanding of, or experience with, Agile development methodology.

This is an office based position located in IBM's San Jose, CA office. However, remote work to start can be possible due to current circumstances.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Basic knowledge working with relational databases (SQL (Structured Query Language), joins, group by)
• Basic knowledge in one or more of the following technology areas: C++, C, Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, or comparable object oriented programming language
• Basic knowledge of operating systems and how they work (i.e. Operating systems courses, serialization, concurrency, multi-threading)
• Basic knowledge of computer science algorithms (sorting, hashing), and data structures (arrays, pointers, hash buckets)
• Familiar working with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 6 months experience working with required professional and technical requirements
