The Finance Transformation Management Office is seeking a highly motivated candidate with broad finance experience initially focused on the Strategy and Organizational Effectiveness service offering. As a Senior Manager within the Finance Transformation Management Office (FTMO), you will be responsible for providing day-to-day strategic direction and leadership for creating an environment and culture that fosters partnership. You will drive initiatives to create high-performance teams, monitor metrics to evaluate and continually improve performance, promote employee growth and provide extraordinary customer service. The FTMO Senior Manager will be responsible for providing services as well as bringing innovative solutions across all of the Finance organization in order to drive efficiencies and effectiveness.
In this role, you will interact with Finance personnel and leaders across all lines of business on a regular basis. You will be required to forge strong relationships across all Finance functions (e.g., Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Enterprise Risk Management, Audit), as well as, with our Finance Business Partners (e.g., IT; Data, Analytics & Reporting; AI&D, Supply Chain, Sales / Marketing, Operations, Real Estate).
This role has primary accountability for strategies and deliverables that support Future-of Finance (FoF) target operating model, and for driving operational efficiency / effectiveness across the Finance organization. The role is accountable to provide input and recommendation to define processes, procedures, best practices and standards required to support ongoing Finance transformation initiatives, drive benefit realization, continuous improvement and alignment to the future-state target operating model.
Acting in an internal management consulting capacity; heavily focused on current-state organizational maturity benchmarking, and Finance transformation and operational industry best practices, emerging trends, benchmarking and future-ready skills and talent development.
Partnering with Executive level stakeholders to understand their needs, enable their vision and build trusted relationships.
Balancing “collaborator” and “challenger” roles; well respected for thought leadership across multiple business segments and at all levels.
Ensuring Finance Transformation Strategy / Roadmap alignment with other Enterprise Strategic Planning and Initiatives
Playing an integral role in leading the planning and implementation of high value initiatives with the goal of ensuring realization of the Finance Transformation Strategy (both in terms of vision and value), while ensuring business readiness and minimization of operational disruption.
Mapping and designing end-to-end processes / programs, monitoring and driving through change towards future-state Finance, while driving standards across the footprint.
Advising Executive Finance management on the strategic direction of Finance's future-state target operating model (including leveraging Centers of Excellence within Finance) and looking for opportunities to create greater leverage across VZ.
Tracking and reporting on program status in relation to Finance Transformation Roadmap value realization, embedding a strong focus on service excellence, cost reduction, and continuous improvement for all of the services delivered by the FTMO organization using benchmarks and best practice comparisons.
Developing detailed business cases and process flow maps for a specific process as well as write business requirements and partner with relevant stakeholders to deliver solutions.
Working with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders to ensure relationships are nurtured and in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and to help drive the delivery of the business benefits associated with our program.
Representing program objectives and acting as a day-to-day resource to deliver program goals and initiatives.
Providing status updates on program and project progress, including communication of any open risks, dependencies or decisions.
Understanding the end-to-end processes related to Finance and Accounting (e.g., people, process, technology, policy and controls).
Leading the team(s) responsible for the overall program progress, risk and issue management, organization-wide communications, and program-wide benefits.
You are a self-starter, continuous learner, proactive, and a critical thinker. You have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills. You’re comfortable interfacing with various and complex stakeholder groups, functions, and senior level management. You have experience working with and seeing large-scale, complex projects through to the finish line, powered by your strong acumen in business transformation and finance.
You're comfortable working in a big data environment, and possess strong strategic and analytical capability. You have a proven record of meeting deadlines, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic, individual and team-oriented work environment. You understand how to leverage digital technologies to drive transformation.
You'll need to have...
Bachelor’s degree and six or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Proven track record of leading large-scale and cross-functional strategic transformation programs working directly with Leadership.
Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations; proven ability to structure business cases around a high-level strategic vision.
High degree of analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data.
Even better if you have...
Big Four consulting experience in Finance Transformation.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
Professional certification in a Finance discipline (e.g. CPA, CMA, etc).
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Process knowledge and familiarity with current and future Verizon financial systems and organizations.
Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices.
Advanced understanding of report query and design.
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $116,500.00 - $223,000.00.
