44165BR System Engineer Professional Job Description As a System Engineer with Cerner ITWorks at CoxHealth, you will serve in a technical capacity in multiple domain areas, providing system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of solutions and services. You will be responsible for providing a high level of performance, integrity, and security for infrastructure systems. In this role, you will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability as well as perform ongoing performance tuning, system upgrades and resource optimization. You will implement monitoring for servers and systems and respond to alarms to prevent or resolve impacts to production systems. You will manage change and project activities while communicating with impacted stakeholders. You will also develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities and complete assigned incident management tasks. Additionally, you will also be involved in testing activities, and providing tier 3 and other support for systems under your responsibility. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience * At least 2 years of system engineering work experience * Experience with Microsoft Windows server operating systems * Experience or understanding of Microsoft infrastructure technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.) * Experience with VMware vSphere * Experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues * Basic understanding of networking Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with non-Windows operating systems (Linux, UNIX) * Experience with Cisco UCS hardware * Experience with enterprise storage systems (SAN and NAS) * Experience with enterprise backup and data protection systems * Experience with desktop virtualization * Experience with Microsoft SQL * Experience with monitoring systems such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, ManageEngine * Experience with Microsoft PowerShell and automating routine tasks Expectations: * Willing to work overtime or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations.
