Your Role and Responsibilities

This Clinical Editor Summer Internship provides a unique opportunity to evaluate a career in medical publishing. It allows interns to apply writing skills and clinical expertise and to learn the technical aspects of the development and maintenance of electronic drug information. Interns will be under the direction of healthcare professionals and work on IBM Micromedex content. Interns are considered a part of our professional healthcare team and their input is valued and respected.

• Evaluation of IBM Micromedex database content, including updating existing monographs and data
• Retrieval and evaluation of relevant literature
• Work on special projects
• Attend relevant staff development activities

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Must be currently enrolled in pharmacy school and have completed second professional year.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Pharmacy internship licensure required.
• In good academic standing.
• Strong personal computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, internet searching); ability and desire to learn databases and/or spreadsheets (Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, etc.).
• Electronic literature retrieval skills (e.g., PubMed).
• Available to work full-time

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong technical writing skills.
• Prior experience with clinical content creation
