THE ROLE

The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or an individual who has only a few years of experience but some technical foundation experience through course work, internships, research projects or other experience as well as an eagerness to learn. Lumen would continue to work with the candidate for additional training and on the job experiences with Senior staff on various activities and roles within the Azure cloud services areas such as cloud assessments, implementation, landing zones, migrations, cloud app modernization and development, monitoring solutions and support of Cloud technologies.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will support delivery of services such as implementations or stand up of landing zones to new and existing customers.

• Assist in assessments, design, development and implementation of Azure services
• Document, Design, Architecture diagraming and procedures for solutions
• Instrument cloud/Azure monitoring and auto-scaling solutions
• Familiarize and leverage Azure reference architectures for IOT and other service solutions
• Create, maintain, and execute CI/CD automation pipelines across public cloud environments.
• Participate in day-to-day Operational activities, including continuous integration deployments and sustaining change request execution.
• Support the IT team in identifying and resolving production and performance issues.
• Support the end-users as needed.
• Participate in day-to-day Operational activities, including continuous integration deployments and sustaining change request execution.
• Develop and / or maintain End-User training documentation

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related technical field
• Basic programing experience or some level of cloud administration in course work or internships, (examples - Ruby, .NET, PowerShell, Python)
• Master's Degree in a technical field or equivalent profession experience, preferred, 0-2 Years
• Good and effective communication skills
• High initiative and interest in learning new technologies
• Team player, high collaboration with a positive attitude
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience coding and scripting for cloud projects leveraging software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS)
• Exposure or experience with Windows and Linux implementation and administration
• Understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware
• Understanding of cloud technologies, primary focus at Azure but Google, AWS experience can be a good foundation to build upon
• Collaboration with Infrastructure build teams to build automated CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in DevOps frameworks and/or development of application software and use of open-source technologies
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Team City, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
• Knowledge of coding/scripting languages such as Python (preferred), Bash, Ansible etc.
• Ability to use and learn open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Basic Networking concepts (SSL, Ports, DNS, Firewall, Routing)
• Basic troubleshooting skills

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation.
