Verizon’s Responsible Business team acts as strategic advisors to Verizon business units and corporate groups, assisting them in adopting and implementing responsible business strategies and social innovation practices. Social innovation practices leverage our unique company products, expertise, and assets to create programs to drive both business growth and societal impact.
Verizon has a goal to support 1M small business owners by 2030 with tools to thrive in the digital economy. Verizon Small Business Digital Ready is a free online platform to support small business owners with the skills to help them thrive in the digital world through courses, expert coaching, peer networking opportunities, product discounts and exclusive grant opportunities. Through our digital platform, we provide a personalized user experience, and offer high-touch customer support and advising. Since launch in September 2021, nearly 500,000 entrepreneurs have on-boarded to Small Business Digital Ready. Partnerships are a critical component of Small Business Digital Ready’s success, including relationships with leading national non-profits, mission-driven organizations and local community-based business support organizations.
This position will be responsible for partnership strategy and relationship management and customer support.
Owner and relationship manager for national partnership portfolio.
Establish strong Verizon relationships with existing portfolio of 12 national partner organizations - understand each partner’s responsibilities and core strengths, support any potential opportunities to improve collaboration
Identify opportunities to share partners with other parts of Verizon’s Responsible Business portfolio (i.e. Skill Forward, Strategic Alliances)
Review partner portfolio to determine gaps and opportunities for new partners; meet with potential partners to determine new opportunities; review proposals and provide feedback; make recommendations on new partner selection
Collaborate with Next Street - Verizon’s lead implementation partner - to onboard new partners to SBDR, ensure all partners are educated on latest SBDR resources and promotions, track success metrics
Provide support to local partnership network
Engage with existing local partners and State Government Affairs teams to support local-market activities that promote SBDR and enhance our relationships with key stakeholders
Ensure that local teams have up to date presentation and promotional materials; lead presentations as needed.
Lead customer support activities
Manage customer support vendor - prepare training documentation, coordinate training schedule/ arrange presenters, ensure proper systems are in place
Roll out new higher value, high touch concierge support for users who need help getting started or navigating the platform.
Collaborate closely with product/ design team to develop strategy for customer support improvements on platform and provide product requirements.
Conduct ongoing monitoring of customer support metrics and key analytics and management of new vendor.
Liaise between Digital Ready team and vendor to ensure agents are up-to-date on any platform changes, key promotions, etc and to ensure wider Digital Ready team is aware of any significant customer support issues.
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Proven track record of building successful collaboration models and the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners to achieve mutually beneficial results.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, as well as strong oral and written communication.
Creative thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and develop potential solutions and analyze alternatives in a structured and organized way.
An innate curiosity for corporate social responsibility and social innovation and/or a passion to support small businesses, and the aspiration to help Verizon enhance its reputation as a socially responsible corporation that supports small businesses.
A self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and able to balance multiple projects and tight deadlines.
Direct knowledge of and/or experience with supporting small businesses and understanding of existing organizations that support small businesses.
Experience working with customer support systems.
Understanding of Verizon’s strategy, business structures, and products/services.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint as well as Google Suite.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $86,000.00 - $150,000.00.
