Leidos has an immediate opportunity for a Cybersecurity Intern. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with an outstanding cybersecurity team. Our cybersecurity team is at the forefront of defining and building solutions to address challenges faced by our end users, applying a go-fast agile approach driven by small teams that rely on and value the contributions of each team member. As the Cybersecurity Intern, you’ll be expected to demonstrate your understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports, protocols system administration, and common security elements. You will be expected to complete basic-level cyber analysis of potential events which can put Leidos at risk. In this capacity, you’ll collaborate with team members, architects, and other IT resources to create and execute the tasks assigned by your manager. You’ll always respect the opinions of others, accept constructive criticism, share your views with a passion for improving the entire team’s performance, and collaborate openly and positively with your teammates.
Primary Responsibilities
Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings
Review DoD intelligence for threats
Complete basic-level cyber analysis of potential events
Performs vulnerability, risk and threat analysis
Additionally, this position may require working during non-business hours as needed
Ability to Track and manage STIG checklists across a variety of operating systems and applications
Perform and/or assist in implementing STIG configurations
Reviews ACAS vulnerability reports and remediates as required
Continual attention to periodic SCAP and STIG requirements needed to harden the environment
Performs vulnerability, risk, and threat analysis
Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field (e.g. IT, Cybersecurity, etc.)
Familiarity with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating system
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of web application security
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management methodologies
Excellent communication skills and decision-making skills
Comprehensive knowledge of corrective action management, and auditing principles
Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality
Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols system administration, and common security elements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
US citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
CompTIA A+ CE or Network+ CE certification
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) directives and policies and procedures pertaining to sensitive information
Ability to draft, modify, or update cybersecurity documentation as needed
CompTIA Security+ CE certification
Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00
