Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Corporate Security, a division of IBM Corporate Headquarters, combines business knowledge with big data to direct the future of IBM’s strategic transformation. The analytics intern understands external variables, learns internal landscape of our global team (requirements, organizational structure, priorities) and develops relationships to successfully enable the delivery of analytics that will drive actionable sourcing intelligence to deliver improved cost, reduced risk, and ultimately more efficient operations. Our work is a combination of data science and management consulting. Through state-of-the-art technology we strive to improve traditional business decision-making and processes

You will aid in creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business. Your responsibilities include data gathering, research, and creating enduring dashboards to drive fact-based quantitative analysis, interpreting the models in business terms, and communicating findings to business leaders. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Has the know how to organize, manage teams, and lead workshops
• Demonstrates ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Encompasses critical thinking and evaluation skills
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Possess time management skills and experience leading, launching and executing initiatives when given ambiguous direction
• Demonstrates attention to detail by being able to capture information using process mapping skills
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot tables)
• Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry
• Experience with data visualization tools

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Pursuing a BA/BS in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science or another STEM applicable field

Enrolled student at an accredited college/university.
