    The Responsibilities of the DATA GOVERNANCE SPECIALIST will focus on the implementation of Data Governance and Stewardship programs and will include the following:

    • Work with customer and other key Stakeholders to lead the definition of the end state vision for Enterprise Data Management where data is visible, accessible, understood, linked, trusted and secure

    • Assist in the identification, development and/or tailoring of industry proven data management maturity models for use by the GOVERNMENT CLIENT

    • Provide practical designs and implement pathways to achieve an overarching data management strategy

    • Assist in delivering written artifacts which allow for the communication and implementation of enterprise data management principals and services

    • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of Enterprise Data Management best of breed practices

    • Perform tasks necessary to acquire data and develop a scalable technical architecture necessary to enable consumption of prepared datasets by the analytical and/or systems development communities in both cloud and on-premise environments at multiple security classification levels up to Secret

    • Perform or facilitate services relating to well-managed coordination between data originators and data system owners as necessary to acquire or connect to operational systems for data analysis purposes

    • Advise, evaluate, and assist in the development of a scalable technical environment architecture necessary to enable consumption of prepared datasets by the analytical and/or systems

    • Develop, collect, and report metrics on the state of enterprise datasets as they are managed across multiple domains

    • Reviews object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access

    • Reviews data architecture artifacts/requirements and offers suggestions, alternatives, and recommendations

    • Works collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture Teams to document AS-IS and TO-BE data architectures

    • Adherence to Agile Scrum Methodologies

    • Provides insights and recommendations and/or assists with the analysis of alternatives related to data related technology enablement. This includes data cataloging solutions, fit-for-purpose database technologies, ETL technologies, cloud-analytics-as-as-service solutions, cloud native platform services, cluster computing technologies, data integration tools, et al

    • Help with development of dashboard/visual style guides and standards as appropriate

    • Provide presentations, reports, and additional support material

  • Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

    • Implementing data governance and stewardship programs in federal organizations.
    • Developing, reviewing, vetting, and updating data governance related processes, procedures, instructions, and training materials
    • Translation, adoption and compliance with all published policy, law, regulation, and instructions relevant to the GOVERNMENT CLIENT
    • Implementing, configuring, and managing modern data cataloging solutions like IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog, Informatica Axon, and Collibra
    • Developing Data Stewardship training materials and conduct training programs in alignment with the established governance framework
    • Defining and implementing governance and stewardship metrics and provide pertinent reports and dashboards to GOVERNMENT CLIENT leadership and organizational stakeholders
    • Collaborate with DoD-wide data cataloging federation efforts
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience as a data management practitioner within DoD or Federal organizations

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Active DOD SECRET Clearance
    • Bachelor of Science in related field
    • Five years of referenced data management experience.
    • Industry certifications in enterprise data management disciplines, frameworks and maturity models is preferred
    • Available for 25% travel on-site for client visits (meetings)
