Team Description

The Dell Corporate Strategy team is a specialized group that advises our COO and executive leadership team on driving, assessing, and prioritizing the long-term strategic direction and growth for the company across its portfolio of existing and new offerings. The team works directly with the C-level leadership team to drive critical strategic, operational, and business development initiatives, as well as shape the overall, long-range strategy for the business.

What you’ll achieve

As a data scientist in the team, you will get to engage an end-to-end data-driven, machine learning and artificial intelligence use case intended to provide our leadership with deep insights for decision making on topics at the core of Dell Technologies operation. Starting with a well phrased idea, identify the relevant data sources, conduct preliminary exploratory data analysis, develop models, evaluate their performance, and phrase a narrative story to share the insights obtained with stakeholders.

You will get to use cutting edge cloud platforms and tools and engage with data science experts, brilliant consultants, and business experts to obtain knowledge and perspective on the identified data science use case.

You will:

• Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, perform analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making 
• Use internal and external data to uncover unique insights (about customers and enterprises) that can inform decision making and enable business strategy 
• Work with Research, Planning and Market Assessment teams to design and execute data science projects (supervised and unsupervised)

**Essential Requirements **

• Pursuing a Master’s/PhD degree in computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or a related data centric field 
• Passionate for analytics and problem-solving. The use case presented will require extensive research and exploration in addition to deep data mining and machine learning development capacity
• Strong foundations in programming (Python/R), development and evaluation of machine learning and data-driven solutions
• Keen technical aptitude balanced with an ability to communicate with business stakeholders

**Desirable Requirements **

• Love building things and comfortable working with modern development tools and writing code collaboratively (bonus points if you have a software development or DevOps experience) 
• Ability to work in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive thinking is the norm
