What you’ll be doing...

The Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all of Verizon. Our team will be a catalyst to Verizon's future in creating networks that move the world forward through the power of Artificial Intelligence & Data.

You will be a strategic thinker joining a high profile, high visibility team that powers analytics and strategic thinking for Verizon. The Network Enablement team focuses on using network data and modeling to enable decision making and drive insights for network teams across Planning, Engineering, Operations and Assurance groups. You will lead a team that builds tools, analyses, and insights that informs, quantifies, and enables the visualization of data. The business insights and recommendations you provide will help to improve Verizon’s performance.

• Leading a strong internal data analytics team to support the business.
• Partnering with others to understand business challenges.
• Crafting creative approaches to uncover the biggest opportunities for cost and time savings.
• Defining and driving the analytics strategy and modeling approaches.
• Building business cases and translating findings into practical business implications.
• Driving the adoption of analytics in decision making.
• Leveraging Network QES (quality of experience scoring) and Network performance data to drive insights for Network Field Engineering and Centralized Planning and Engineering

What we’re looking for...

You can visualize the big picture strategy, but can also break it down into the components to get the job done. You believe that the best decisions are based in data and you’re the one that knows how to tease out the key learning within a dataset. You have credibility with people because you are a specialist in all things data but you also know how to bring it down to the level that your audience can understand—that’s practical and will help the business improve. And you’re an effective and inspiring leader who brings out the best in others.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• At least 1 year of AI&D experience
• Experience with quantitative modeling, statistics, or data mining.
• Demonstrated communication and influence skills.
• Proven ability to present complex or technical topics in an engaging way.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Masters of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field, or MBA
• Worked with SQL and statistical software packages like SAS and SPSS.
• Managed a team.
• Experience with visualization software like Qlikview, Tableau, or Excel.
• Coding experience (e.g., C/C++, Java or Python) or experience with Alteryx or similar.
• Consulting experience.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $131,000.00 and $244,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
