    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Leidos is seeking talented and highly motivated technical interns to join the engineering team at our Lynnwood, WA facility. The individuals will support a team that’s executing multiple contracts and research activities to develop and field maritime sensors, payloads, and supporting infrastructure for next generation unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) systems. The position offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on training with skilled professionals. In addition, the selected candidate will apply skills/theories into real-world problem solving and gain valuable work experience that is rewarding personally and professionally

    Primary Responsibilities

    This internship will support hardware development and testing for advanced projects under the mentorship of more senior engineering staff. The selected candidate(s) will be expected to become familiar with standard practices for assembling, designing, and testing electromechanical systems.  This intern will primarily be involved with generating and maintaining electrical/mechanical drawings for parts and assemblies related to programs currently underway. The candidate will also support the team by the management of test equipment, component organization, and various on-going cross-discipline engineering tasks.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Must be enrolled in ABET accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field, and have completed at least 2 year of curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA

    • Experience with Matlab, C/C++, Simulink, or similar language

    • Familiarity with interpreting electrical circuit diagrams.

    • Experience working on electrical or mechanical assemblies.

    • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work without close supervision.

    • Competent in use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project, and Visio

    • Adaptability to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas

    • US citizenship is required

    • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in one of the following is helpful, but not required: surface or underwater vehicles, game theory, cybersecurity, autonomy, environmental modeling, simulations or communication protocols, human factors, or user interface development.

    • Software development or integration skills using Linux

    • Set up, install, repair and maintain a variety of engineering equipment

    • Make simple tracings, diagrams and drawings

    • Experience using engineering tools such as Altium, SolidWorks, SPICE, etc.…

    PAY RANGE:

    • $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
