    Description

    Leidos is seeking a Engineering Intern in St. Petersburg, FL.

    The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Engineering Intern to work in our St.Petersburg, FL office. This is an exciting opportunity to use gain knowledge and experience the designing, producing, and testing communication and electronic warfare systems.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The successful candidate will be energetic, eager to learn and comfortable working in a peer-to-peer environment. We’re looking for an individual that aspires to be an engineer in any discipline and would like to be exposed to advanced communications systems. Specific assignments include:

    • Participate in designing, developing and testing sophisticated electronics hardware and test code
    • Participate in quality assurance and configuration management activities
    • Create design specification documents, schematics, parts lists, test procedures and assembly instructions
    • Select COTS components based on analysis of specifications, availability, cost and reliability
    • Participate in building circuit card assemblies, systems, and test fixtures

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering or physics from an accredited college/university.
    • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
    • U.S. Citizenship is required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3.0 GPA
    • Candidate with knowledge of or experience in working with simulation tools such as LabView, Matlab, and MS Office Products

    Pay Range:

    • $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
