JOB ROLE DESCRIPTION: ASSOCIATE TEST SPECIALIST

As an Associate Test Specialist at IBM, your analytical and technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike.

WORK YOU COULD DO AS AN ASSOCIATE TEST SPECIALIST:

• Participate in the design of the technical test benchmark
• Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.
• Create test data and test environments
• Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead
• Identify errors and validate successes for any software solution
• Verify fixes after they are applied to a test system and verifying the results of test cases
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes
• Identify, analyze, and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program, application or set of applications
• Analyze and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

ABOUT THE CLIENT INNOVATION CENTER (CIC):

• The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our East Lansing center (aka: we work in a traditional IBM Agile office setting)
• However, some travel is expected, and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE TIME
• You must live in, OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO, MICHIGAN

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Exposure to project development as a part of course curriculum or work experience
• Experience working with relational databases, writing SQL queries, data analytical or statistical background
• Extensive use of Java/C#/python or any other programming language on your projects
• Exposure to Agile methodologies
• Experience with Web, Mobile and API and Cloud based tools and technologies
• Ability to self-learn and adapt to new technologies and changing requirements

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Certifications in any programming languages or Cloud
