    JOB SUMMARY

    CenturyLink's internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Strategic Planning and Transformation group will be part of an accelerated learning experience, to challenge skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills while working on active CenturyLink work projects. The Network Performance Tools and Analytics Development (NPTAD) team is responsible for developing innovative solutions that collect and analyze near real-time performance data across all CenturyLink networks. The NPTAD organization focuses on advancing the capabilities of CenturyLink's next-generation management infrastructure with a charter to enable customer self-service visibility to the performance of their networks and services. This internship will take place in Littleton, CO. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Ability to utilize your current talents to innovate on strategic software development and data analytics initiatives that are critical to CenturyLink's overall IT transformation.
    • Focus on the development and deployment of complex applications to provide end to end performance monitoring of all CenturyLink network elements, networks and services.
    • Challenged to build innovative software solutions and will work closely with senior CenturyLink developers and architects to write/test/implement feature enhancements and process improvements within both new and existing applications.
    • Become a valued member of a dynamic and dedicated software development team working for a global communications and IT services leader.
  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Classification: Junior, Senior or Graduate status by start of internship.
    • Pursing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an IT-related degree program such as CIS or Computer Science.
    • Currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University.
    • 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of software development methodologies (including Agile/Scaled Agile), standards and coding best practices.
    • Experience with various development languages including but not limited to: Java, C , SQL, XML, Objective-C.
    • Experience with statistical modeling and data analytics analysis
    • Working knowledge of REST/SOAP web services.
    • Experience with various operating systems including Windows, UNIX and LINUX.
    • Previous internship/work experience within the IT field.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Strong sense of urgency towards meeting deadlines.
    • Highly motivated, organized, reliable and detail oriented.
    • Capable of multi-tasking efficiently.
    • Professional attitude.

    • Bachelors or Equivalent
    • Masters or Equivalent
